Amsterdam can become a true open-air classroom.
Walking in Amsterdam organises guided tours for schools, classes and groups of students, with routes designed to tell the story of the city in a clear and engaging way, suited to the participants’ age.
The aim is not simply to see Amsterdam, but to help students understand its history, its culture and the ways it has changed.

A visit that completes the school trip
During the tour we take students through some of the most significant places in the city, linking what we see to historical, social, economic and cultural themes.
Amsterdam opens up a great many subjects: from the birth of the city to the Dutch Golden Age, from international trade to architecture, all the way to contemporary society and the city’s particular relationship with water, mobility and urban space.

A story suited to students
No lectures on the move.
The tour is built with simple, lively language, leaving room for questions, curiosity and discussion.
We want students to take part in the story of the city, to observe what is in front of them and to learn to connect places, history and everyday life.
Customisable routes
We can adapt the route to:
- the students’ age
- the school curriculum
- the time available
- the topics to explore
- the other activities of the trip
We can also agree on where the tour starts and ends, so that it fits easily into the day’s programme.
Let’s organise your class visit
Tell us the number of students, their age, the date of the trip and any topics you would like to explore.
We will help you build a tour suited to your group.
